Prom is NOT the best night of your life!
High school can be a miserable time. During my 20 plus years with high schoolers, I used to preach and preach the following: These are NOT the best times of your life. Life does get better when you can make some of your own rules. The traits that others tease you about right now are often the VERY TRAITS that serve you well for the rest of your life and set you apart from others in a GOOD way.

During Prom season, I have some words of caution/wisdom for all of the teens out there who aren't having such a great time. Don't despair if you are looking around and wondering why everyone else seems to be having the time of their lives. If they are having the time of their lives, that means the REST of their lives will be pretty sad--with them always looking backwards to the glory days. Don't despair. Look forward to the BEST times of your lives!
