Santa Fe is known as a dog friendly community. And our dog parks are great social networking locations for you and your companions. Most locals will say and many visitors will even agree that Santa Fe has gone to the dogs. Why?
Water dishes are common in front of local shops and our community has several pet-friendly hotels. All Santa Fe Parks and Plaza areas are officially open to the public from 6:00 AM until 10:00 PM every day except when our city officials have approved other activities. Unless there is a public notice, all dogs must be on a secure leash as voice command is not an acceptable form of restraint. And of course, no dog likes to be embarrassed in front of other dogs and their human companions, so remember to bring along a sanitary bag as a way to pick up and dispose of your dog’s waste.Remember, only service dogs are allowed on the Historic Plaza with their human companions during all major Santa Fe Plaza events, including July 4th Pancake Breakfast, Spanish Market, Indian Market, Art and Craft shows and Fiesta.
