What to do this week in Ellison Bay, Wisconsin:  the recent break from the staggering heat wave has made travelling up to "Door County North" just a little bit more enjoyable.  Tonight:  Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social! Join The Clearing's friends, neighbors and students Wed., July 18 from 7-9 pm at the Jensen Visitor Center, 12171 Garrett Bay Rd, Ellison Bay, as they celebrate summer with a mid-summer ice cream social. 6 flavors of ice cream and homemade chocolate sauce from The Clearing's kitchen and all the toppings to make your own masterpiece! Hope you can make it! Yum!  Afterwards, stop by Wills Park and Marina to watch a sunset or to see Labradors retrieve tennis balls as the boaters go by. 
Can't make it to Ellison Bay tonight?  There's always the Savory Spoon, with weekly culinary classes, or dinner at Pasta Vino (yum).  One new busines is Island Orchard Brewing--Hard Cider (and they offer samples).  Open Tuesday through Sunday.  Or visit the Women's Club Community Beach for swimming, tennis and a children's park.
