Apparently My Bells And Whistles Sound Different Than Theirs
ORANGE COUNTY CA REAL ESTATE LISTINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMMM
Recently, while I was searching for homes for my buyers here in Orange County, California, I found one of those real estate listings that make you go hmmm. So... I'm not trying to be rude or insult anyone's taste, but some real estate agents really need to get up to speed about what's hot and what's NOT in today's market. When a real estate listing states that a house has "all the bells and whistles", I'm expecting to see a completely updated kitchen and baths, hardwood or stone flooring, and modern paint colors. What I don't expect to find is dark oak kitchen cabinets with granite slapped on top and highlighted by 1970's style drop down lighting, white walls, 12 inch tile floors (not even laid on a diagonal-eeek), oak paneled walls, and a navy blue velour barca-lounger in the family room! OK, so maybe the barca-lounger isn't part of the house, but it certainly is a reflection of the owners taste and style, and dates the look and feel of the home. At minimum, I would exclude this photo from the real estate listing... I'm just sayin'.
