Welcome NEW Don Juan Avila Elementary School Principal | Aliso Viejo

Dear Parents and Community Members:
I am honored to be selected as the new principal of Don Juan Avila Elementary School. Don Juan has a long history of excellence and service to students and parents. I hope to continue the tradition of excellence and look forward to meeting the children, parents, and teachers I will serve.
As you may know, my position as Executive Director of Elementary and Early Childhood Programs at the District for the last four years was eliminated due to budget cuts. I’m excited to return to my previous position of principal in the Aliso Viejo area and once again be directly connected with children at the school site level. Some of you may know me as I opened Canyon Vista Elementary School in 2003 where we earned the California Distinguished School Award. Previous to that, I was the principal of Bathgate Elementary School in Mission Viejo where, during my tenure, we also earned the California Distinguished School Award and the No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon Award.
