One of the real treasures of San Diego is the Embarcadero where the Maritime Museum is located. With things going on all years with visiting ships, the museum itself is quite fascinating. 
This year, as many will remember from some earlier posts, the museum with the help of many volunteers is building a replica of the old ship, San Salvador. It should be finished in time for our Centennial Celebration in 2015
Throughout the year, there are tall ships visiting from other countries and San Diego has two tall ships on display all year, the most famous being the Star of India and that is in addition to the ships that offer tours around the Bay. Out in front for this years Tall Ship Festival, I observed a small reconstruction of a tall ship ( The Mayflower ) and it was so wonderfully detailed, I thought it would be fun to share it here in the Rain. The ship is named the Miniflower and is at a scale of 1:10.
