The reason we should NEVER forget January 1, 2000!
At some point in the early 1990s, some prognosticators began promulgating an impending cataclysm of epic proportions.
This new “End of the World” scenario did not involve nuclear holocaust or uncontrolled pandemic. Rather, it was based on a simple notion that our dependency on technology, if suddenly interrupted, would plunge us into anarchy, chaos and economic doom.
People actually believed that airplanes would fall out of the sky and the entire electric grid would be extinguished.
As a result, the momentous occasion was saddled with trepidation instead of celebration.
As we all know, when the clocks rolled over across the globe on Y2K, nothing happened.
It was much ado about nothing.
We allowed fear to consume us.
There are those now that are once again predicting an imminent catastrophe.
If history has taught us anything, it is to NOT borrow trouble.
And while our lives may be affected to some degree, it is NOT a matter of life or death.
We will survive! So just relax.
