Water Walk With Me
A favorite spot at the Seattle Center for me is the space between McCaw Hall and the Exhibition Hall. It’s one of the main entrances into the center from the north of Mercer Street. Between the two buildings there’s 3 huge rectangles each with a thin sheet of water running over it. I’m guesstimating they're about 15’ wide by 50’ long.

The surface has to be ever so consistently flat and slightly tilted to create these perfectly distributed sheets of water. It’s kind of mind boggling and amazing at the same time when you contemplate the amount of space your looking at then realize the water is only about an 1/8th of an inch thick.

But who cares about the science, it’s a total magnet for kids. It doesn't matter what time of year it is, hot or cold, rain or shine, you’ll almost always find some young one’s thrilled to walk it end to end. I especially enjoy those times I get to witness the awe of a first discovery.
