October 2012 Sumter, SC Market Report

The number of homes sold in the Sumter South Carolina Real Estate Market in the month of October increased from 64 in Septmber to 68 in October.  The number of active pendings has decreased at the end of October, which is an indicator that the number of homes sold in November will decrease.     
 
 
The Median home price in Sumter has increased in October.  The Average $ per Square Foot dropped in October to a low for the 2012, but the number reflects many foreclosed and distressed properties being sold.
 
The charts for October are below.  While 2012 is following a different sales pattern than prior years, it seems to be similar to the sales pattern in 2008 which means the market should remain active into the winter months.  For more information or a free walk thru, please call me at 803-840-7519.
