Poughkeepsie Train Station
Poughkeepsie Metro-North Hudson Line The Poughkeepsie train station is the most northern Metro-North Hudson Line station; or you could say the end of the line in Dutchess County. It is an important transportation hub in the Mid-Hudson Valley region. The Hudson line offers scenic views of the Hudson River and Mountains.
History of Poughkeepsie Station The present station was opened for business in 1918. It was modeled in some ways after Grand Central Station and is listed on the Registry of Historic Places.            
Who uses the Poughkeepsie Stations Since there are stations to the south of Poughkeepsie, and to the east (the Harlem Valley Line), this station is used by residents of Poughkeepsie ,and those living to the north, who might find the Amtrak service in Rhinebeck too expensive for commuting, and the fact that the trip ends at Grand Central Station instead of at Penn Station.
