Whale Watching is Back In Palos Verdes

The Whale Watching season is upon us, and Palos Verdes homes owners don’t have far to go to see these whales off our coastline.  The season has officially started, and according to the Point Vicente Interpretive Center,  499 whales have been counted going south, 1 headed north, and 17 calf pairs have been counted going south as of yesterday.  This number is higher  than past years, and in the last two years the numbers have been growing.   Most of the whales are traveling south to Baja and the concern in the last several months has been the fact that they are swimming in the large container ship paths.  There is something so exciting about seeing these magnificent creatures.  In the last several days there have been larger than normal pods of these interesting animals, in fact up to 28 counted at one time.  Please click here to read more about Whale Watching in Palos Verdes....
