Termite Inspections Are So Important
 
In North Carolina, termite inspection are so important to have done on a home you are planning on buying. If you are a VA buyer this is a mandatory inspection that your lender requires. If you already own your home and have been in it for some time, you should have a termite inspection done yearly if you don’t have it under contract with a local pest company already.


As a Realtor, I see the majority of termite reports from my clients homes come back with active termites,  previously infested termite, not active or an actual clean report with no termite issues. The last 10 termite inspection reports I received back showed 7 out of the 10 had active termites or previously infested termite, not active. WOW... right? Actually not really a big surprise as a Realtor, but can be alarming to a potential buyer or seller. Termites, if caught early and treated is not that big of a deal. I always have a talk about the termite inspection done on a home prior to getting the report back. This way it helps prepare the buyer or seller incase issues come up.
