What Do Home Buyers Want in Sacramento?
A big honkin' black crow has discovered my water fountain in the back yard of my home in Land Park. It's not really a fountain per se, it's a 24-inch-in-diameter platter-like bowl, like you'd use to bake a deep dish pizza, stuck on top of a four-foot pole that sticks into the ground. Birds land on it and drink water. Sometimes, they take a bath in it. It's great amusement for my cats who sit in the bedroom window to watch them. It's like bird TV. Some days the rim of the fountain is occupied by dozens of house finches or gold finches, chirping, drinking, flapping wings and putting on a show.
But lately, this huge crow has taken a fancy to the fountain. He digs up worms in the yard and drops them into the water. Half eaten. Yesterday, I found a chunk of chicken, a mushroom and two worms. It's the ickiest thing. I scoop them out, refill the water fountain, but he comes back to yell at me. Sometimes, he swishes a worm into the water to wash it off before he eats it.
