Easy Way to Check if Collection Agencies are Licensed in a State

In my line of work (credit repair), I deal with a TON of different collection agencies. These collection agencies often send out letters to my clients demanding payment for a debt they have been hired to collect, or have acquired themselves. These agencies, however, MUST BE LICENSED in most states in order to collect. Sometimes, collection agencies attempt to act ILLEGALY, and collect in a state where they are not licensed.
There is no good way to determine if a collection agency is licensed, other than spending way too much time either surfing through a state's website for a search tool, or calling the state and dealing with phone beauracracy. (It earns its reputation, believe me!).
 
Instead, I have taken some time to create a ONE-STOP source for all the licensing information for each state. On my website, I have created a map of collection companies by state. Simply by clicking on the state in question, you get a pdf list of all licensed collection companies.
 
I'm not sure how many of you need this information in your day-to-day work, but if you ever do, boy will it save some time!
