Summer in Cohasset, Massachusetts
Summer in Cohasset, Massachusetts

Cohasset is a residential town, with some great things to do. Cohasset has a walkable downtown, with shops and restaurants in the Village. Main Street and Elm Street are lined with historic homes. At the east end lies the beautiful protected harbor with its lobster boats and historic Minot's Lighthouse. Along the coast, magnificent homes and ocean vistas from Atlantic Avenue and Jerusalem Road comprise the “Gold Coast”, one of the loveliest waterfront home areas in the country.
Like much of the east coast of Massachusetts, the area is packed with early American history, and Cohasset has many museums and antique buildings. The Cohasset Historical Society hosts events during the summer. It is located on South Main Street. The Cohasset Library is in the beautifully renovated Osgood Building on Ripley Road and includes Our World Children’s Museum.
Cohasset has three beaches. Sandy Beach, Minot Beach in North Scituate, and Egypt Beach. Minot Beach is best for children, while rocky Egypt Beach is best for beach-combers. During nor'easters and other big storms, these beaches are famously broadcast on television because of their dramatic storm surf.
