So, a couple of years back my husband asked me what I wanted to do for our anniversary. I thought about it for a while and decided I had never been to New York City so I told him I wanted to go there and stay over night. At the time, we had one child who was only two so having a night away would be a nice change of pace, or so I thought. I asked my mother if she and my father would be willing to watch our son so we could go away. She was of course open to watching him but not to the idea of me going to NYC for the night. My mom has never been there but doesn't like the idea of New York even though I tell her once she went she would love it. So anyway, we dropped off our son to her early in the morning and then took off for our mini-retreat!!
