My hobby of observing seismic events (earthquakes) in the Intermountain West ( Utah to Yellowstone) in weekly intervals, has me thinking again of a game my wife keeps to entertain visiting grandchildren (and herself, when the mood arises) called "Swat That Fly".
"Nyah, Nyah, Ya missed me" is certainly appropriate for me in Sandy UT. Missed us but not so Park City, West Valley City (two events) and Magna, close-by Utah cities.
My map provided by University of Utah Seismic Stations, just up the road at the "U", shows 60 events for the Intermountain West, this time all in the micro range (less than 3.0). These maps are updated regularly and come with other interesting data (for those who might enjoy a similar hobby).
I comment on regional seismic events to inform, never to alarm. My hobby is not involved in prediction.
Our State Government produces detailed information for "Living in Earthquake Country" and offers detailed preparedness suggestions. I take particular note of this information especially relating to Seniors and Disabled.
