Incorporated in 1787, Weston sits in the middle of Fairfield County Connecticut, with Wilton to the West, Redding to the North, Easton to the East, Westport to the South and Fairfield to the Southeast. Weston is one of the most affluent communities in the United States with the highest median household income in the county at $ 185,377. Early in its history the town was primarily agricultural with its farmers growing apples, potatoes and onions. Very little manufacturing took place in Weston, in part, because the town does not have a railroad running through the town as does many of its neighbors. By 1850 there were only nine manufacturers in town and by 1911 there were none.
