With the real estate market being so active in Edgewater recently, there has been a lot of discussion about what makes this area stand out from others. Most answers to this question include the neighborhood’s location, easy access to the new RTD West Line, potential new housing developments and all of the actives this community has to offer.  This past weekend was a perfect example of one of Edgewater’s most popular events; the 2013 Dragon Boat Festival took over Sloans Lake and the surrounding park for a fun filled weekend for all involved. 
 
 
 
The 13th annual festival kicked off Saturday morning with an opening ceremony featuring the traditional Dragon Dance and lasted late into Sunday evening.  The festival included an Asian Arts fair, traditional and contemporary song and dance performances from the Asian culture, live spray paint mural painting, rock and roll and blues performances, martial arts demonstrations, traditional Asian cuisine, and Dragon Land, a children’s area with many games, arts and crafts and reptiles from the Denver Zoo.
