Bristol Borough supports historic scenic byway project - Easton, PA to Bristol, PA
Bristol Borough Council supports historic scenic byway project which would connect about towns from Easton, PA to Bristol, PA. This week, the council sent a letter showing their support for the project. At the end of January, 39 letters of support were still needed from local munipalities, before they could even submit an application to Penndot.
The Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor Commission and the Heritage Conservancy would like to create a series of roads from town to town, which would create the scenic byway. Landmark Towns of Bucks County, is a program consisting of local businesses, officials, and community members would like to brand the waterfront towns of Bristol, Morrisville, Yardley and New Hope as tourist destinations.
This is the only the beginning stage, and there isn't even a proposed route for this project.

The state scenic byway program is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration program and recognizes select roads for cultural, archaeological, historic, natural, recreational and scenic qualities. The designation could bring federal funding, economic development, preservation, community development and tourism.
