August 2013 was another great month for home sales in the Sumter, SC real estate market.  While we did see a decrease from 92 homes sold in Sumter, SC in July 2013  to 91 homes sold in August 2013 this is still an increase of 23% over August 2012!  The home sales in Sumter have outpaced every year back to 2008.  The sales increase year to date through August 2013 from August 2012 is 25%.  The number of homes under contract the end of August was 176 which is a decrease from June and July 2013, but a strong indicator that September 2013 will see in increase in sales over September 2012. 
 
The Median home price in Sumter has decreased in August 2013 for the first time since March 2013.  The Median Home Price in August 2013 is still higher than most of the month is 2013, it just decreased from the median home price in July 2013.  The Average $ per Square Foot for a home in Sumter, SC was $66.72.  The price per square foot in Sumter SC remains strong but was impacted by some very low ... more
