The Shutdown Effect.
This government shutdown is not working for our good. Our livelihood is affected by this shutdown. We never considered ourselves as government employees; in fact, far from it.  We can't get unemployment benefits, nor any benefits for that matter if we are not working.  But in a sense, that is what's happening. This shutdown is causing a snowball effect.  It started at the top and rolling downhill and taking everything with it.  We rely on gov't loans, VA, FHA, USDA, HUD (HUD's not a loan, but FHA backed); the websites are down!!  If your loan was in the middle of being processed, well, too bad!  They all went home, they are all on furlough.  Now some are being called back to work, or working without pay (hey, we do that all the time) Let me get back to my point.   Some offices may be open. Some private funding companies maybe are being used to process our loans so that its not a complete failure to our already deliberated, hanging on by a thread housing market  However, expect some delays. We still have to wait on "certificates of eligibility and such like in most cases. So tie a knot at the end ... more
