Moving to Mesquite, NV with Pets
     It is hard to believe that it was almost 5 short years ago when we moved to our new home in Mesquite, Nevada. We had enough winter and wanted to go someplace warmer. After exploring many parts of the country, we chose Mesquite, Nevada, or I should say Mesquite, Nevada chose us. We fell in love with the people and the location. We are in a valley surrounded by the Virgin Mountains and the Virgin River flows through town, thus adding some lush farmlands that border Mesquite. We are 87 miles from Las Vegas where one can experience both world class dining and entertainment and about the same distance from beautiful Zion National Park where one can experience quiet and solitude with the land.
     One of our biggest obstacles to moving was how we were going to go cross country with our three cats whom we had rescued from a shelter.  Mind you, they do not like to drive in the car for too long so a five day/4 night journey, stopping at a new hotel every night was out of the question.  We had considered renting an RV to drive cross country but the thought of listening to them ... more
