Lake Havasu Wings, Wheels and Waves 2013 How do you get to an oasis in the desert like Lake Havasu City?  Whether by car, by boat or by air, thousands upon thousands of people make their way to our fair city every year.  The original airstrip next to the lake is what enticed Robert McCulloch to relocate his business from Southern California to the patch of land that would eventually become Lake Havasu City.  Even though the current Lake Havasu Municipal Airport originally opened its doors back in 1991, Lake Havasu Wings, Wheels and Waves 2013 marks the airport's inaugural open house.
