My Take Aways from NAR's 2013 Annual Conference in San Francisco
I’m writing this having just returned from the National Association of Realtors’ (NAR) 2013 Annual Conference, held last week in San Francisco (Nov. 8-11). I’m even more excited than I was before the event! Here’s why.
First, the event was a great success on every level—from its stunning San Francisco venue, to the high-level content of the presentations, and large turnout of attendees – a whopping 22,000 realtors.
The second, more important reason for my great post-conference enthusiasm is the positive energy that was palpable throughout the conference. While we’ve all been reading about the real estate recovery for months now, to see and feel the reality of that recovery first-hand was exhilarating. NAR’s chief economist, Lawrence Yun, predicted steadiness in existing-home sales over the next year as prices continue to ascend.
What’s even more inspiring, however, is the renewed spirit of collaboration among the industry’s leaders. Having gone through the doldrums of the downturn, today’s top brokers and service partners realize that the power of many is more valuable than ever. It was also great to meet some of the most innovative people in our industry with technology and services that will help grow my company.
