Are Pilates Just for Females?

I would have to say ‘NO’. Pilates exercises help strengthen the core, including legs, abs, hips and back, but also work arms. Men and women alike have all of these body parts. I feel most men think Pilates is too ‘easy’ for them. Even some women think it is ‘easy’ but that’s just because they don’t push themselves or they don’t do the exercises correctly.
I have been taking Pilates classes at the Brentwood YMCA for about 5 years, first with Amy as the instructor and now, Renee. They are both wonderful instructors. Amy is now an instructor at Ignite Fitness in Brentwood. I haven’t made it over there yet, but plan to soon.
Men rarely attend the classes at the Y but we do have one regular. Today I was surprised to see 3 men in the class. They find out that the exercises are much harder than they expected and are huffing and puffing with the rest of us before class is over.
