Politically Correct? Forget it!
I was born and raised in the south. In fact I was brought up FAR from having a silver spoon in my mouth. If anything, it was fine china from the local Goodwill or Kmart back then.
So, when I got into real estate, my first broker, who was a very nice lady btw, was very polished, well dressed, nice big Mercedes, and she lived in a golf course country club community. I was impressed, but not intimidated.
I recall one of the things she told me was, I needed to polish up my language a little and put on a "show face" when talking to clients. Hmm... I'll have to think about that one I thought.
It hit home when she told me I should tell people "Happy Holidays" verses "Merry Christmas". Sorry, not happening. I recall my real estate instructor (who was very southern, and a very successful broker) telling me, just be yourself in this business, don't try to be something you are not.
So, it is not my intention to offend anyone, and I respect all people for who they are. On the same token, I am who I am!
