Frozen and bent but not broke
Good morning everyone-All day yesterday we had freezing rain so I didn't venture outside at all other than to get the Sunday paper. This morning when I went out to get the paper I noticed one of the bird feeders was empty so I filled it and then I happened to notice farther down in the garden across from Lindsey's Memorial this butterfly bush in the walkway.
The ice had weighed the branches down and on closer inspection discovered that while bent over the bush wasn't broke. I took a broom and knocked some of the ice off to take some of the weight off. While it didn't help it much I am sure after the temps warm up and the rest of the ice gets off of the branches it will rebound. It grew about 4ft this year so it is quite tall about 6 to 7 ft tall and the butterflies loved it.


Even the bird feeders didn't escape the ice.
