"The Six Thinking Hats" book will change the way you think!
My team and I are reading “The Six Thinking Hats” – this book discusses the method that can change the way humans think. This method is highly used from large corporations to preschoolers, so it is for everyone and very easy to follow.
This book’s method is about changing the way a group communicates and better ways to reach a decision as a group. The main goal is to make thinking more well-structured and effective. The author writes, “Suggestions, judgments, criticism, information and plain emotions are all mixed together in a sort of thinking stew.” – In order to be more effective, you must separate one from another.
When trying to make a decision or solve a problem - the “hats” are different ways of looking at the issue to come to a solution. The white hat sees the facts, the red hat says how one feels about the issue, the black hat looks at the negative effects of the decision, the yellow hat looks at the positive effects of the decision, the green hat thinks of alternatives, and the blue hat clarifies which kind of thinking is going on.
