You Can't Fix Stupid-Laugh and Learn About 2013 Darwin Award Winners   If you're unfamiliar with the Darwin Awards, they are acknowledgements of certain citizens' abundant stupidity (edited and paraphrased). The Winner: When his .38 caliber revolver failed to fire at his intended victim during a hold-up in California would-be robber James Elliot peered down the barrel and tried the trigger again. This time he succeeded.   Honorable Mentions: When a Swiss chef lost a finger in a meat cutting machine, he submitted a claim to his insurance company. Anticipating user negligence, the insurance company sent an inspector. He tried the machine and also lost a finger. The chef’s claim was approved. (Wouldn't it have been wiser to just approve the claim in the first place?)     An American teenager recovering from serious head wounds received from an oncoming train was asked how he got hurt. He explained he was  trying to see how close he could get his head to a moving train before he was hit.
