Track 61 Connecting Boston Massachusetts Seaport District to the City!

Can you imagine having a train that can connect you in minutes to the downtown area, no long walks on those icy paths to the Seaport District from Downtown Boston.
 
As the Seaport grows and becomes a brillant addition to our Boston landscape with major employers, large hotels, the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center and of course fine - correct that - very fine restaurants, getting there has always posed a bit of a hassle.
 
Last January the Governor of Massachusetts included 13 Billion Dollars in our state's "WAY FORWARD" transportation plan party to the specific 100 million dollars in the Track 61 Plan.
With an anticipated fare cost to the rider of approximately $2.00 this will be well worth it.  The DMU train cars themselves cost a mere $4 million whereas the locomotive type of train would cost approximately $10 million we are told.  DMU trains are not geared to long distances and are deemed to be perfect for the short run from downtown to the Seaport.  Short run on a train but a long exhausting run on the pavement or a traffic filled ride by ... more
