Newport County's Norman Bird Sanctuary Will Hold Lunch Tours
 
 
The old farmhouse on the property of the Norman Bird Sanctuary on Third Beach Road in Middletown, Newport County, Rhode Island has been undergoing extensive renovations for the past several years.  The Paradise Farmhouse, as it is called, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is the oldest structure on Norman Bird Sanctuary's 325 acre property.  It dates back to the early 1700's when it was used as a shack for tenant farmers.  During renovations, the character of the structure has been meticulously preserved, even while updating all systems.  Interior architectural details that had been removed at the project's start have been intricately restored and have been reinstalled over the last several months.
 
Newport County's Norman Bird Sanctuary will hold lunch tours beginning on Friday, January 17, 2014 and continuing each Friday until March 28, 2014 that will include a farmhouse lunch of hot organic soup, warm crusty bread, garden salad, beverage and dessert.  Lunch will be from noon to 1pm at a cost of $12.00 per person.
 
Norman Bird Sanctuary's Paradise Farmhouse will shortly be offering multi-day programs for visiting ornithologists, naturalists, health & wellness groups, eco-conscious travelers, environmentalists and artists.  It has overnight accomodations that ... more
