Silly me...I did not know there was a color of the year. But I love the color orchid or lavender and find myself taking pictures of anything this color.
 
 
 
According to the Pantone Color Institute Website, the Pantone Color Institute has been designating a Color of the Year to express in color what is taking place in the global zeitgeist since 2000. This year, 2014, they have chosen the color "Radiant Orchid".
