Staging; Don't Take it Personal

Staging: It's Not Personal As a professional stager, it is my job to help clients understand why and how staging works. No matter what you have heard, selling a house can be very stressful! I can help relieve a lot of this stress.  The first step for the client is to realize the house they're selling is no longer their "home." They are moving and now must see the house as a product or commodity that needs to be sold. The best way to do this is to stage and depersonalize! It is a normal human tendency to feel emotional attachment to possessions and belongings. When I ask a client to remove particular things from their home, I will always give a reason why. The goal is to increase space and to focus on the architectural features of the property. Displaying a doll or Faberge collection doesn't help sell a home any faster. Buyers need to focus on the house's features, not the collections. Being able to put collections and personal items in boxes or storage will greatly aid the selling process.
