I saw an interview with Tom's Shoe's Blake Mycoskie about the purpose of his business. Blake started Tom's shoes (which stands for Tomorrow's Shoes but it wouldn't fit on the shoe.) as vehicle to provide shoes for poor kids in 3rd world countries so they could go to school.
