I am attending a seminar this month on this subject. It interests me what home modifications can be done to a home to make it adaptable for Seniors. Frequently, a move away later involves a move back home. There is much to consider when Seniors choose to make long term lifestyle changes. Aging In Place Is The Option Aging in place allows people to live in the home of their choice for as long as possible. There are outside services available to maintain and even improve the quality of life. Too many times I have witnessed a rapid decline when seniors are forced to make a move from a comfortable home they love. Aging in place is the option and should be considered first. It is about doing the right thing. And sometimes advising sellers NOT to sell may be the best option. There are ways to make most homes convenient and accessible by including stair glides, grab bars, flooring modifications, easy open door handles, reduction of fall risks with hand rails other simple safety features.
