If you are looking for tips and tricks on how to stage a home, this is not the blog to read. However, this blog is about the positive effect of staging a home to sell. I have been hosting an open house on the weekends for the Courseside development in Lakewood since December 2013. During the first three weeks of the open house, there was quite a bit of traffic with an average of around 20 visitors per day. However, the response was underwhelming to say the least. The home had not been staged and it was not a warm or inviting feeling for visitors. Although the home being newly built includes granite counter-tops in the kitchen and bathrooms, stainless steel appliances, brushed steel lighting fixtures, brushed steel cabinet hardware, and engineered hard wood floors and cabinets, it was not selling and had no serious offers.
