A First Time for Everything
A FIRST
I was showing a very rural property late yesterday afternoon.  I was in the kitchen with the Mrs, while the Mr. was walking the perimeter of the 3 Acre property.  There happened to be several barns and outbuildings as well.
After a short while, Mr. came into the house and said, “Well, you’d better call the Sheriff”.  He explained that he found a badly injured deer caught in the fence behind one of the outbuildings.  It was in pretty bad shape.
I tried calling the Listing Agent, but got a voicemail.  I did not know how to reach the owner, so,.…I called the Sheriff.
We didn’t have to wait long before he arrived.   Thankfully Mr. walked him out to where the deer was---out of my sight.  Then I heard the shots.  Just two, but still loud and echoing and sad.
I know it was for the best, but it still hurt my soul.  I finally reached the Listor and told him what had happened.   I didn’t want that poor homeowner to come home to discover the remains of the deer.

I hope it’s a long while before I am asked to call the Sheriff again.
