I suppose that we’re all still a bit more sensitive to happenings in the local economy following several years of focused adaptation to a very stressful recession.  Although I know that Charlotte felt the recession far less severely our sister cities (other metro areas), we still felt the pain, nonetheless.  Our luxury home market in Charlotte is finally beginning to rebound from the very lean years of 2008 to 2012.
 
North Carolina's Governor (both past and present) and the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce have been tenacious in the pursuit of building our area's economy.  One of the largest relocation announcements, MetLife, came at a time that our economy was in the recovery process.  MetLife employees have found that Charlotte was a fantastic move for their headquarters. The move of Sealed Air Corp., however, is the largest corporate move in Charlotte relocation history!
