San Francisco's Friends of the Urban Forest -
providing benefits and beauty to our city ----

Have you ever strolled down a city street and thought, "this is a lovely"? If so, chances are is is because of street trees. And if you are in San Francisco, chances are you owe the Friends of the Urban Forest a big "thank you." These trees increase oxygen, clean the air, add beauty, calm the nerves, and often increase property values.

Since 1981, the non-profit Friends of the Urban Forest has planted over 43,000 street trees in the various neighborhoods of the city. Their mission statement reads, "...to promote a larger, healthier urban forest as part of San Francisco's green infrastructure through community planting, tree care, education, and advocacy."
There are many ways in which you can get involved:
Make a donation to this 501(c)(3) non-profit organization Volunteer your time and talents. You can help plant trees, assist in the office and with out-reach programs, monitor trees that need attention, talk to property owner about adding a street tree - possibilities abound Interested in learning more?
