Richmond Hill (Georgia) Sidewalk Project Approved

Or just a citizen that likes to take a walk to the store... GREAT NEWS! 
At the Richmond Hill City Council meeting Oct. 7 the City Council approved the Richmond Hill Sidewalk Project. This will connect neighborhoods to schools, parks and retail establishments withing the city limits of Richmond Hill, GA. The project has already been bid out and the construction begins later this month!
Richmond Hill Mayor Harold Fowler said his concern has been kids' safety, "however, walkable neighborhoods benefit all citizens. Residents in such neighborhoods tend to get more physical activity, businesses benefit from local customers and property values increase faster, and there is an enhanced sense of connection due to greater interaction among neighbors."
Richmond Hill already has a fairly extensive network of sidewalks and nature trails for walking, but till now they were not really connected in a way that would allow you to get from one neighborhood to the next, or from the ... more
