First Proposed Hotel for Denver
  Developers are in the planning stages of building eastern Lincoln County’s first hotel.  Cottonwood Hotel is proposed to be a six story, 140 room hotel near the Highway 73 & Highway 16 interchange.
The hotel would sit east of Highway 16 Business and be near other local retailers –Lowe’s, Showmars, Midtown Sundries, WalMart, Zaxby’s, Sweet Dreams, and more.   This would be the area’s first building that could host conference meetings, weddings, and other events.  The developer is currently in discussion with Marriott and Hilton to have a hotel brand.
Included in the development is plans for a residential project (rentals) and up to 60,000 square feet of commercial-retail space.  Denver continues to grow, as noted with other neighborhoods having new construction, a 55+ community – Three Cherry Way under construction, and the newest active lifestyle neighborhood – Trilogy, by Shea Homes.
If approved, construction would begin in late 2015.
Denver is quickly becoming a more sought-out area to live.  With low property taxes, good schools, and close proximity to uptown Charlotte, Birkdale, and the airport; many families and businesses are looking for a place to call home.
