Is This The Best Campsite on the Oregon Coast?

The Oregon Coast has some spectacular scenery and camping opportunities, but I've yet to find a better spot than space #17 at Tillicum Beach Campground in the Siuslaw National Forest.
The Forest Service campground is located between Yachats and Newport on the Central Oregon Coast.
The site offers 180 degree ocean views up and down the sandy beaches just below the campsite.  The fresh sea air is invigorating and the sound of the surf offers white noise for sound sleeping at night.  On cloudless nights, the stars are bright and plentiful.

Site 17 has water and bathrooms across the street in this National Forest Campground.  Spaces are available with RV hookups, but not with the million dollar views.
My wife and I are still young enough to prefer tent camping, albeit in a 10-man tent with a queen-size fold-out frame, comfortable air mattress, and lots of blankets and sleeping ... more
