They provide shelter for many creatures, including humans. They let us dress them up in silly ways without complaining. 3. They offer a communication post for dogs who want to leave their mark.

7. They open their arms to us and offer shade from the summer heat .
8.Every year they unfailingly lay down their leaves to provide cover for dormant plants, warmth and a safe haven for critters

10. They become a great scratching post for bear, elk, deer. *See below*!
