A Place to Warm the Bones
Last Monday afternoon, I was taken out of commission by a virus.  It’s been several days of chills, night sweats, and achy bones.  While doing couch time on the way to a mend, I couldn’t help thinking about one of my favorite places, a mere 20 miles east on the other side of the Sierra Nevada range from Lake Tahoe.
If one travels east over Kingsbury Grade from Lake Tahoe, they can find themselves at “David Walley’s Hot Springs,” near the early Nevada settlement of Genoa in Carson Valley. 
The area offers rare beauty that differs greatly from season to season, and the hour of the day. Anytime between late autumn, through early spring, is my favorite time to visit.  I think it's time!
