Hunting Island State Park near Beaufort South Carolina was the top visited park in the state last year. With an estimated 1.35 million visitors for the year. That represents a 26 percent increase over 2013, according to SC Parks Recreation and Tourism.
 
Visitors to the Beaufort are drawn by all its water activities so it is not surprising that the park would be so popular. Southern Beaufort County visitor to Hilton Head Island will also take the time to see the natural beauty of the park.
 
"You're talking about one of the more beautiful natural places in America" according to Robb Wells tourism director for the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce.
 
Although no real estate is available in the park itself, property can be found close by on St. Helena Island, Harbor Island and Fripp Island.
