Hiking Calvert County

Tired of being cooped up in the house?  Spend some time in the great outdoors by hiking Calvert County.  Both the Chesapeake Beach community and Prince Frederick are offering beautiful nature hikes this Saturday and you are more than welcome to come along!
Chesapeake Beach Heritage Hike - The Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum (4155 Mears Ave) is offering a morning stroll around the old train bed.  Guests will meet up with their tour guide on the porch of the museum at 9am.  Along the way, you will learn all about the history of the railway and the surrounding area.  This hike is provided absolutely free of charge courtesy of the Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum.  For more information, please contact the museum at (410) 257-3892.

Prince Frederick Full Moon Hike - This Saturday night, the full moon will be in effect.  Each month's full moon has a different name.  There is the Wolf Moon in January and the Buck Moon in July.  April offers up the Grass Moon, aka Pink Moon, Egg Moon and Sprouting Grass Moon.  Biscoe Gray Heritage Farm (2695 Grays Rd) is hosting a two mile Full Moon Hike on Saturday, April 4th from 7pm to 9pm.  It is ... more
