Unclaimed money --- do you have some money somewhere? Find it!
Recently, I came across information about Unclaimed Money (in California). At first, I was wary, because social security number is requested to verify one's identity. I googled the information, checked the site, looked at the phone numbers, the logo, etc. and determined that this is legit.

So I searched, and found 6 under my name. By the time I added them up, I had $100 in unclaimed and uncashed checks.
Being curious, I also checked the other states where I lived -- Texas and Florida --- and also found some unclaimed property/money.

When I posted on Facebook that I searched for and found some of my unclaimed money, some cohorts were just as trepidatious about entering their social security numbers. One went ahead, and found $250 for himself, and $477 for his daughter. That alone was worth the few minutes that he searched.
I also searched on behalf of my siblings and nephews and nieces, and found several unclaimed property (uncashed checks, stocks, etc). They all add up!
