Blowout Art Sale
Art Lovers,  Saturday, August 8 is an opportunity to select a piece for art for your home or office.  Two of my favorite artists, Carter Herrington and Kevin Carpenter, are moving from Dallas to Austin next week. Saturday they are hosting a Blowout Art Sale, beginning at 5:00 P.M.
Both Carter and Kevin were finalists in the juried exhibit, "Biennial 2015: Origins in Geometry," sponsored by the MADI Museum of Geometric and MADI Art, in Dallas.  Carter's work was chosen for the cover of the " Biennial: Origins in Geometry 2015" catalog. "Lunurban," pictured to the right, is a 24x24 piece,  constructed of hundreds of pieces of wood artfully placed in a wooden shadow box.  "Lunurban" is painted white. Light bounces off the top of each intricately carved piece of wood and  shadows accentuate the architecture of this unique piece.  The back of the shadowbox is a colorful abstract painting.  The MADI exhibit runs through October 4, 2015.
