Annual Katy Triathlon being held at Firethorne   
The 23rd Annual Katy Triathlon will be hosted once again by the Katy Rotary Club and the City of Katy. The event will be held in and around the Firethorne neighborhood in Katy Texas and  will take place on Sunday September 27, 2015 with the starting time at 7:00 AM.
 
Firethorne is a Master Planned Community located on FM 1463 about 2-3 miles south of I-10 and this event has been held in Firethorne for the last several years. I have written blogs about this Triathlon in the past as it is a huge local event where all the proceeds benefit local college scholarships awarded by the Katy Rotary Club.


This Triathlon will consist of a new (course) 12 mile bike ride, 500 meter lake swim and 3 mile run. Individuals as well as teams are competing. There are several brackets of competitors including the most competitive where an individual would have had to place in the top three in another sanctioned event during 2015 in order to qualify.
